General
Fees and Rebates
No. You can see a psychologist or therapist without a referral from your GP or psychiatrist. However, if you have a valid referral from your GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician you will be able to claim a Medicare rebate for psychology services.
Most sessions at Mind Connect Psychology are 50 minutes from your scheduled appointment time. Some services may have longer or shorter sessions, for example couples counselling will sometimes involve 80 minute sessions.
The number of sessions needed varies depending on your unique needs, goals and experience. We see your appointments as a journey to grow and strengthen and we will continue to speak with you about your treatment plan and frequency of sessions.
Yes. We currently offer after-hours appointments 4 evenings a week and Saturdays.
Yes. We are a NDIS Registered Provider. This means we can work with clients whose funding is:
• Plan-managed – your plan manager can pay us directly from your NDIS funds for services under Therapeutic Supports.
• Self-managed – you can pay us and then claim reimbursement from the NDIS.
• NDIA-managed – we can claim directly from the NDIS on your behalf.
If you’re unsure how this applies to your plan, our admin team is happy to guide you through the process.

Yes. All of our psychologists and therapists are fully qualified and registered with the relevant professional boards, ensuring they meet strict standards of training, ethics, and ongoing professional development.
Registration as a psychologist in Australia is overseen by the Psychology Board of Australia with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Psychologists complete a minimum six-year training program, while clinical psychologists undertake additional postgraduate training and supervised clinical experience to develop expertise in assessment and therapy.
All of our therapists have also completed professional training in their respective fields and are registered with the relevant professional associations, ensuring they meet high standards of practice and ethical care.

We securely store records and only share information with your consent or where required by law, ensuring your information remains protected at all times.

We welcome feedback and take concerns seriously. If you have feedback or wish to make a complaint, we encourage you to follow the steps below:
1. Speak directly with your nominated psychologist or therapist
Many concerns can be resolved quickly by discussing them directly with your treating clinician.
2. Contact the Practice Manager
If you are not comfortable speaking with your clinician, or the issue remains unresolved, you may contact the Practice Manager for further review.
3. Submit an enquiry via our website
You may provide feedback or raise concerns using the website enquiry form.
4. Complete our Feedback and Complaints Form
If you would prefer to make a formal written complaint, please complete our Feedback and Complaints Form. Forms can be emailed to manager@mindconnect.sydney,(mailto:manager@mindconnect.sydney) handed in at our reception, or posted to our practice.
All complaints and feedback are handled confidentially and in accordance with our privacy obligations.
